Today, on April 18, 2016, the administrative Arrangement on the cooperation in the cultural heritage field was signed between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Culture and Communication of the French Republic. The document was signed both by the Minister of Culture Monica Babuc and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to the Republic of Moldova, Pascal Vagogne.

The ceremony of signing preceded the Forum "Urbanism and sustainable development of Chișinău", which will be held on April, 18-19, this year, in the International Day of Monuments and Sites. The event took place at the National Art Museum of Moldova and met a lot of officials, culture people, experts in the culture field, journalists, and interested public.

In her message addressed to those who were present in the hall, Minister of Culture Monica Babuc declared that Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova has assumed the responsibility for creating public policies, particularly the national legislation that concern the preservation, protection and valorization of the national cultural heritage. "The system of laws concerning the protection and conservation of the movable cultural heritage, archaeological, the public monuments, immaterial cultural heritage, elaborated and approved since 2010, as well as the amendments proposed in the penal and contravention Code to toughen the penalties for the infringement of the heritage legislation, but also the museums law projects, demonstrate that today's agreement will have a thorough legislative support", the official said. Minister of Culture expressed conviction that specialists from both countries will contribute into a decisive manner that this arrangement to be transferred completely into our daily lives.

The administrative Arrangement provides the conservation, valorization and administration of movable heritage, architectural and urban, and also the consolidation of the professional competencies for those who are working in cultural heritage field, through the formation of cadres and specialists in the French Republic or in the Republic of Moldova.

We should note that this administrative Arrangement between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova and the Ministry of Culture and Communication of French Republic is the first international treaty that was signed in cultural heritage between these two countries.
